When Elsie left school, at the tender age of 18, she trained to be a Nurse. Eventually specialising in Theatre, where she had a great time getting to know patients inside out…
When Elsie moved into the independent sector, she realised that people management was what she really enjoyed doing, so studied HR and employment law. Initially Elsie worked in HR in healthcare companies, as there was a natural synergy with her nursing career. However, not wanting to be pigeon-holed as ‘just-healthcare-HR’ she did change sectors.
Elsie worked for a while as an employment law consultant for RBS/NatWest, providing employment law support for their SME customers, she had the opportunity to work with many different types of employer.
She then worked as the Employment Law Manager for Lidl, and even though it’s been a few years since she left, she still loves the middle of Lidl!
Elsie commented: “Eventually I moved back to Healthcare, and when I had the opportunity to apply for the CPO role at HomeLink Healthcare, I did my research, and what really attracted me to the company, was that if I was still nursing, I think HomeLink Healthcare is the kind of company that I would want to work for.”
